Wednesday 12/04/17 The Queensland Trials Sub Committee had our monthly meeting and the main topic of discussion was developing Junior participation at grass roots level at all of Q.L.D Trials Events and Developing those kids into the next crop of open class riders .
After a lengthy discussion a motion was put forward being to assist with the cost and encourage more junior participation at all (Practice Days, Coaching Days, Club Trials and Interclub Trials) For all M.A Affiliated Q.L.D Trials Club Members 12 years of age and under the Q.L.D Trials Subcommittee will subsidize all entry fee’s. Meaning that if a child is a member of. W.D.T.C, L.R.M.T.C, C.Q.T.C, M.T.C.Q. or GYMPIE M.C.C. and is 12 years old or under you will only require a financial out lay for a M.A license to ride in any Q.L.D Trials Events. The cost of entry will be free.
All clubs are to accept the child’s entry with no entry fee attached. The organizing club running the event is to then simply list the junior riders name, license number and club and invoice the Queensland Trials Subcommittee for prompt reimbursement.
This motion was voted on and passed unanimously and is valid from 12/04/17 and will be reviewed at our last meeting of the year in November 2017 with the hopes that we will continue this endeavor into the future and grow our sport from our younger generation.
We would ask that all our QLD. Clubs please adopt this initiative from today onwards.
A miss conception regarding minimum age has been to obtain a junior restricted license and ride trials you must be 7 years of age or over costing $140 per year,
However to clarify things further, all kids from 4 years of age CAN ride in our trial events using a mini license at a cost of $130 per year Until they are 7 and can then up grade to a junior restricted license.
News for seniors. As trials riders do not share the course (section) with any other riders at any time we are able to run our events with a recreational class if that class is included in our sup reggs so what that means is for those riders that are not interested in competition or riding for an award you are able to ride any Practice day, Coaching day, Club day or Interclub trial using a yearly Recreational license with the cost of $140 per year, you Can Not compete in State or National championship on a Recreational license however at any time you can upgrade your recreational license to a Restricted National (Trial, Fast 50’s or mini moto competition) or Open National license (any motorcycle competition in Australia) .
One event recreational licenses have always been and still remain available at a cost of $30 .These licenses formally $25 with the cost going up to $30 a few years ago, Our clubs buy these license books outright a few at a time, The price increase was not handed on until the old license books were used up.
On Tuesday night the Central Queensland Trials club passed a motion to cover the license cost to all participating junior members 12 years and under. Following the C.Q trials clubs lead, Motorcycle Trials Club of QLD have also made the decision to cover the license cost for participating junior club members 12years and under,
We anticipate most if not all Queensland Trials clubs will also follow suit and may only be a case of taking it to there next club meeting officially to confirm. This could mean that all QLD juniors 12years old and under wishing to ride trials with the exception of buying a bike and riding gear can ride the entire year for free!!
To be apart of our fantastic family friendly sport and get you or your kids riding now
