After an anxious few days wait following a rained-out presentation, the results from the 2011 Taste Eden Valley SA Women's Cup & Eden Valley Hotel Diener/Holmes Sidecar Cup were announced today at the close of Day 1 of the Australian Championships.


Twenty-seven women and nineteen outfits contested the event, with a large number of support classes making up the rest of the usual grades.


Women's Expert champion was NSW's Michelle Coleman on 82 points. Just 4 points behind in second place was Victorian Brooke Lonie, with fellow Victorian rider Ina Halls in third place on 117.


Women's Sport class was won by Kaitlyn Cummins (43), just a single point ahead of Brooke Luscombe (44).  Felicity Harvie took third place with 57 points.


Women's Masters was won by Bev Anderson-Tranter (52) ahead of Sue Ferris (65) and Angela Sophios (71).


Women's Novice was won by Elyse Arnold (41) with Jessica Chivers (73) in second place.


In a countback finish, Women's Junior class was won by Lucinda Clarke on 36 points, with 36 cleans and 4 ones. Her sister Megan Clarke took second place on 36 points, 36 cleans and 2 ones. In third place was Sarah Chivers (54).


Women's Sub Junior class was won by Anna Rogers on 74, ahead of Anna Jobson on 91 points.


In Sidecar A grade, a close finish saw UK's Robin Luscombe & Steve Sparkes (54) narrowly beat Justin Gough & Maurice Blanchard (58). Third place was the Wilcocks/Green outfit (103).


Sidecar B grade was won by Rees/Cramond (48), ahead of Irrgang/Wilksch (55) and Nolan/Ursino (70).


Sidecar Classic was convincingly won by Greenhalgh/Neider on 11 points, with Kraft/Parkes (68) in second and Weckert/Ury (71) in third.
