Sherco riders had a successful 2 days of competition at the NSW TRIAL Championships on the 24/25th of August at Pacific park, northwest of Sydney.
Over a very sunny 2 days of competition the Sherco team had great success in most grades. At the top level the two Zarczynski brothers Colin and Kevin on their Cabestany Replica Sherco’s took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively on the podium. New Sherco recruit Jake Walker got off to a strong start in the testing sections until a fall and suspected torn ankle ligaments put a stop to his weekend. We wish Jake a speedy recovery in time for the Australian Championships in October.
In A Grade Sherco riders Jason Byrne and Rick Kent took first & second places and in the Open Womens grade new mum Michelle Coleman had a successful return on the bike to take a strong 2nd place just behind current Aussie womens champ Kristie (K-Dog) Mckinnon. In the Junior Womens championship grade the 2 OÇonnor sisters Emma and Molly battled it out for the 3rd position on the podium with the younger one Emma getting the trophy due to a better finish on day 2.
The very competitive Masters grade again saw the podium dominated by the Blue & yellow Sherco’s with Martin oÇonnor taking the win ahead of Graham Peace. In the Youth category it was a battle of the mechanics with Charlie Bingley on the Sherco small block ST290 taking the win over an injured James Wager on the big block Sherco ST305. Finally in Veterans 60+ saw the ever competitive peter Curtis (Sherco ST290) take the win with Trevor Bennett on his new ST250 grabbing the 3rd place trophy.
Sherco Australia congratulates the organisers and volunteers for putting on an excellent event and we look forward to seeing everyone in Bendigo for the Australian Championships in October
