The Gas Gas rider had an upward trend throughout the week in a competition that rewards consistency, and after sharing the lead in the early days, he took the lead in the solo competition on Thursday and never relinquished the yellow plate until completing the thirty zones of the final day. This is the seventh victory for the Gas Gas rider, which marked another milestone in the Scottish, being the most successful rider in the history of this event with more than 100 years of recorded statistics. After lifting his past two trophies of victory while riding a Gas Gas TXT300 Pro Racing, Lampkin has now outpaced the mythical Trial legends, Mick Andrews and Sammy Miller.
Dougie Lampkin:
"It feels pretty special to have won the Scottish Six Days Trial for a seventh time, as it is a very difficult event to win just once. The first two days were hard work as my riding was not where I wanted it to be, but from the middle of the week onwards things started to click and I began to feel comfortable in the sections which helped me open up a lead that I managed to keep right through to the end."
