Featuring the HOWARD WALLACE MASTERS SHIELD
Fairbairn Trials Park, Majura, ACT
Sunday October 20th 2013
The Trials Club of Canberra, as part of Canberra’s Centenary Celebrations, will be promoting this National Open Moto Trial, for Solo and Sidecar Trials machines.
While this will be a great opportunity for Trials competitors to ride at the magnificent Trials Park, it is also a unique opportunity for Trials to present itself to a whole new range of potential participants.
The SPIN: Hub Capital extravaganza, concentrated around the Fairbairn Park motorsport complex, will see Moto X, Dirt Track, Moto Trials, Go Karts, and Hillclimb events being conducted simultaneously.
This will allow spectators from the Canberra public, and visitors from around the region, to view five facets of motorsport within a relatively short walking distance of each other.
Trials around Australia, and perhaps around the world, is suffering from a decline in participant numbers. TCC sees this event as an ideal opportunity to showcase our unique form of motorsport competition.
We in the trials community already know that our sport can be enjoyed by male and female competitors of all ages. Outside of Trials, this fact is virtually unknown.
We are aware that the Expert riders amaze spectators with their ability to effortlessly master unbelievable obstacles. The idea that similar types of obstacles can be mastered by Trials Sidecars is foreign to everyone.
With this in mind we will include recognition for Sidecar competitors, and also Classic competitors, in the Taffy Williams Memorial Trial.
The downside to all of this is the close proximity (timewise) of our event to the 2013 Australian Moto Trial Championships. Interstate competitors may not be able to make two trips a fortnight apart.
We would be very pleased to hear from any Sidecar Teams, and any Classic competitors, that would be interested in supporting our Trial.
