My family and I went and watched Trials Week last year and thought it was great. My Dad, Sister and I decided then and there it was something we wanted to ride in next year.
This was my first year competing in an Australian Titles Event and I loved it! It was an amazing experience to be involved in such a big event with other people all wishing to do their best. Even though it was a National Event people were very supportive and helpful. I also enjoyed meeting new people and catching up with friends.
The South Australian Trials Clubs did a fantastic job organising the week and making sure it ran smoothly. The South Australian State Championships at the Hogan's beautiful property was a great start to the week. The Midweek Womens Cup was very good given the weather conditions - the Observers were wonderful. The Australian Titles were tough for me but I enjoyed the challenge it presented - it made me realise I can ride tougher stuff than I thought.
Thanks to Hugh Harvie from Beta Racing for sourcing a clutch line at short notice and Paul Arnott for my new boots and continued support of my Sister.
A huge thank you to my Parents for driving me down for the events, my Dad who Minded for me at the Australian Titles, and my Sister for riding around with me at the Womens Cup. I would also like to thank the other QLD riders and families who supported and helped me throughout the week.
Looking forward to next year already!
Jessica Chivers.
