With just four weeks to go to the World Trial Championship round at Mt Tarrengower, our chief section setter Tom Scott had a busy weekend.
Tom, with help from other members of the local TCV club, was out in force with rolls of red, blue and green duct tape, marking out the lines to be ridden by the likes of Bou, Raga and Dabill in just a few week's time.
The three lines are Youth, Junior/Open International, and World Pro. The difficulty starts at about a hard Australian A grade level, through Expert, and into the realms of "unbelievable" for the World Pro riders.
As various helpers - self included - stood back and wondered "Can they really ride up that?" Tom assured us they would.
"These guys are so good, they'll just go 'braaap, braarp' and they'll be on top."
As Tom busied himself with setting the three lines, others were busy marking out walkways, mowing the spectator areas, and generally tidying up the area.
Radio communications were tested, distances measured, facilities placements determined, and the various routes between the main paddock, practice area, and section return loops for the riders were also established.
Check out this link for more photos of the section areas, including a few with Tom on a stationary bike to give some scale of the rocks.
